A specialist labour law practice structured around a single mandate: the South African employer.

Empower
your business.

I.

Your trusted partner.

Workplace Law Chambers is your trusted partner for all your labour law and employment law needs, providing structured CCMA representation for employers, disciplinary hearing support, Section 189 retrenchment guidance, employment contract drafting, and ongoing labour law compliance for business operations.

We represent employers only. We do not act for employees or trade unions. This is a structural choice, made when WLC was founded in 2006, and held since. It is what allows our case strategy library to grow in one direction; it is what makes our advice to the employer fully aligned with the employer's commercial position; it is what removes every conflict-check delay from the moment of instruction.

Workplace Law Chambers operates from three offices in Centurion, Hoedspruit and Cape Town, serving employers nationally across every major South African sector.

One mandate:
the employer.

The people of WLC

Specialists, not a switchboard.

Every mandate is led personally by the director and carried by a small, dedicated team across our Centurion, Hoedspruit and Cape Town offices. When you instruct WLC Labour, you work with the people who appear at the hearing.

JP Dickinson · Director

JP Dickinson leads Workplace Law Chambers with two decades of employer-side practice in front of the CCMA, the Bargaining Councils, and the Labour Court. The mandate is narrow by design: defend the businesses that employ South Africans, and build the legal systems that keep them out of dispute in the first place.

Every mandate is led personally. Clients are not handed to juniors after the first meeting. The practice has grown by referral, with most current work coming from finance directors, HR principals and managing directors who have instructed WLC before.
